Want your writing to shine? Let RES polish it!
Our Philosophy
Since 1996 Ross Editorial Services has been helping writers communicate as effectively as possible. We believe that when you work hard to gather and disseminate information and ideas, you deserve to have your material expressed clearly and gracefully, in a well-organized fashion, with the best word choice and grammatical usage. We want your readers to say, "Yes, I understand this. It's all so clear and well-written."
Tips For Academic Writers
Periods and commas belong inside quotation marks; colons and semicolons outside.
There are no quotation marks at the beginning or end of block quotes.
Follow your department's style re: format, text citations, etc.
Be sure your text citations and Reference list information agree.
To make a singular noun possessive, add apostrophe plus "s" (e.g., "Tom's paper").
To make plural nouns possessive, just add an apostrophe (e.g., "the Rosses' Service").
"E.g." means "for example." " I.e." means " that is." There's a difference.
Use a period at the end of "et al."
"Who" refers to a person, "which" refers to a thing, and "that" can refer to either.
Don't use two words when one word will do.
